On the topic of Being Kinda Lean (Lean Startup Conference 2012)

I had the great pleasure of being invited to speak at the Lean Startup conference by Sarah Milstein and Eric Ries. So, to put this in context, Sarah literally wrote the book on twitter and, of course, Eric Ries is the author and leader of the Lean Startup Movement. I knew I needed to show up with honest, BS-less perspective to share.

The link below has both the slides and the audio from my talk, which I very seriously called “Kinda Lean: Curvy and working out” to pay homage to the similarities between fitness and startup goals. The Lean Startup Methodology is a brilliant approach to more scientifically and repeatably building good products and teams, but I wanted to shed a little bit of “reality light” on what many of us actually experience building a startup that wants to be lean AND SUCCESSFUL. So I did.
